A registration and attendance system for a 550-member student organization, replacing scattered sheets with faster event check-ins and voting eligibility tracking.

This is a custom-built platform I helped develop to bring order to the chaos of managing a 550-member organization.
As one of two Lead Developers, I worked with a team of developers, designers, and project managers to build a centralized system that streamlines everything from event check-ins to voting eligibility.
By the end of my MISA term in May 2026, it had powered 5 major events across the organization.
The Problem
For a student organization as large as MISA, simple administrative tasks were becoming a real operational headache.
The existing process for tracking members was scattered and manual. Keeping a single up-to-date database of 550+ students was hard enough, but accurately tracking who attended which events was even harder.
This became especially painful during organizational elections. Figuring out which members were eligible to vote meant manually cross-referencing multiple spreadsheets, which was slow, inefficient, and prone to human error.
Building It Together
What MISA needed was a single source of truth.
For this project, we worked as a structured team with project managers, a UX designer, developers, and a systems documentation lead. My core responsibility as a Lead Developer was turning the designed workflow into a usable system.
I worked closely with our UX designer to make sure the interface was technically feasible, easy to use at live events, and durable enough for future operations teams.
Key Features
- Centralized member database for 550+ members
- Tablet-friendly event check-in flow
- Real-time attendance updates
- Voting eligibility tracking based on attendance
- Event history for member engagement
Impact
Instead of scattered sheets, operations managers got a focused interface for checking people into events and maintaining the organization database.
When a member checks in, the manager finds their name, marks them as attended, and the master record updates immediately. It is not flashy software, but it solves a real coordination problem for a real organization.
